My apps connected to my iPhone so whenever I shop there, I get the receipt automatically in the app

I don't use the same card and I too shop at different Walmart locations but have noticed this. Try going into the Communications & Privacy and turn off "personalized experience". I believe this is the tracker. Delete the items shown, may take some time and moving forward see if it will continue to track. If it does, then I don't know what it could be. Thanks for posting, OP.

My Walmart app has nothing in my buy again section so it's gotta be something you set up

Target does the same and I was wondering. It has "buy again" on stuff I bought months ago and I usually use my debit in store but credit online and through the app. I can only assume that any card you use is in their system and they can match up who is buying what via the billing address on the card.

If you pay with a debit or credit card all transactions are linked to that card. Virtually all POS systems function that way. When I worked retail during college that was one of the ways we helped people return items when they lost their original receipt.

Had to use the Walmart app to purchase something that wasn't in store and noticed they had a reorder section. In this section was everything that I had bought this past year. The freaky part is that I bought the stuff in store at multiple locations. How did Walmart know that I've bought that stuff ?

my friend said that they have cameras that track you in store and keep track of everything you buy but that doesn't sound believable

This is creepy and why I'm paranoid af!

It might be the credit card if you have it connected for online orders. I have the Target card and I sometimes order online and it keeps track of everything I buy at Target with their card

The privacy policy states under "Information We Receive From You": you actively share information with us in various ways in our stores and online. For example you share information when you:

  • Make an in-store purchase or online purchase, or other transaction, with us;
  • Create an account on one of our websites or mobile services
  • Use a gift registry or create a mobile shopping list

they list other things. This is where the tracker comes in:

  • Device Information We collect technical information when you visit our websites or use our mobile applications or services. This includes information such as Internet Protocol (IP) address, the type of mobile device you use, yur device operation system and browser type, a unique device identifier, the address of referring websites, the path you take through our websites, and other information about your session on our websites.
  • Precise Device Location Information:

I think this one is it as it uses your device's GPS. You can go read it for yourself. I'm not typing that out.:LOL:

When you download any app on your device it has access to all device identification. You haven't told us enough to know how they're linking it. It's Its most likely has your number, email, credit card info linked. If it's tracking cash transaction without you putting in any info on yourself, then I can't say exactly. could be collecting location data and collecting data on your shopping habits.

Right, I uploaded 1 receipt to the app a long time ago. Now they know every time I go and what I buy.

I'm very curious as to how they would do this with cash purchases at the store since you aren't logging into an account or using a loyalty card. How is it possible for them to identify you through their POS system using cash? Unless you're a person that always completes the surveys that provide customer feedback using the receipts, it would be nigh impossible.
